In 1889, Frank Lloyd Wright built his home in Oak Park, Illinois. The complex rectilinear designs are adapted from the art glass skylights at the entrance to Wright's two-story octagonal studio. The coloration of the glass throughout the house changes with seasonal shifts and altered qualities of sunlight. The ambiance of these spaces is just as remarkable today as it was when first-time clients visited at the dawn of the twentieth century. The environment proved to be inspiring for the architecturally formative years of Wright, as he designed roughly 250 projects during his time working in this home.
